The Day After: Brides on Horses

Oh goodness. Let me introduce to you this incredible day after session of Kate and Matt, taken in New Zealand by the talented artist Tracy Turpen. These are probably some of my favorite photographs {and elements included in the photographs} that I've come across so far. And did I  mention Tracy is from South Carolina? Oh yes, I have a ton of talented photographer neighbors out here in the East.

This session made me wonder though, instead of a day after session why can't someone do a year-after or even a few-years-after session? Okay, I admit trying to squeeze into your wedding dress 10 years down the road to recreate photos could be a little desperate or weird, but why not a year or two? Seriously, I'm asking. Or maybe I'm just wanting to wear my dress again and lay on a horse.

Has anyone ever postponed their day-after shoot to a longer period of time?  If not, would you do it?

See more here, here, and here.

Yep, we are thinking of a post-wedding shoot. Sometime in the near future hopefully, which will be two or three months after. We didn't take time to do too many photos of just the two of us on the day of the wedding, and I wanted some pictures at places other than the venue, so we decided it made more sense to do it at a separate time. And the idea of doing it the day after seemed crazy to us!

I didn't even know post wedding shoots were common! I've heard of trash-the-dress shoots...but really like the idea of getting all dolled up again and taking kissy face photos! :)

wow - now i want a horse... these pictures are amazing.

I think there should be more pictures of couples between the wedding and kids. I once you have kids, you start taking pictures again - what about the years in between??

callee- mmmhhhm. me too.

adventures- that's so great to hear! the day after seems crazy to me too, we were booking it to mexico and just wanted to be alone with nothing to do! it's good to hear that someone else is extending the date.

ruthy- i really do want to take kissy face photos again.

very married- tell me about it. we had a horse in our pictures but sadly didn't get a good photo of us with it. i wasn't on it anyway, i love the ones where he's holding the lead. and what about the years in between, you're right. it's not all about the kids. or pets. or holidays. i like the idea of a one year anniversery. alright, and maybe without the wedding dress.

Haha, dressing up as a bride. Genius. You know one of my friends wanted to have a wedding dress tea party, so we could all wear ours again. It'd be the funniest sight though, I think I'd be cracking up the whole time.

Tabs- DO IT!!! Take those cutie pictures. Then come visit us.

It's really sad to hear that the groom in the pictures (Matt) has passed away on June 28 2010 due to a farm bike accident. :O(

That's absolutely heartbreaking.

I love the wedding ceremony and see the dress of the brides.I think they are like princess in a royal palace. But although the entire celebration is wondeful, many men have sexual problems and their marrige could be in danger. So i suggest them to buy viagra and forget any concern their sexual lives.
