Embracing the Rain

It's been raining all day here in Asheville. It's been a long time since I've been able to listen to the steady flow of raindrops hitting the roof above my head. It's what I went to sleep to almost every night when I was little, laying on my bed listening as the downpour hit the metal roofing and softly fell into the water surrounding our lodge. Being able to look out the window and see it pouring down makes me feel a lot more like this new city is my home.

If it had rained on our day I would have been fine with it. It actually had already begun, but last minute the thunder cleared up and we were left with deep sweeping clouds and perfect rays of light from the setting sun. I admire the brides that embrace the weather on their wedding day like the couple below. Thanks to Bridalhood for passing this along, and to Comfort Studio for capturing it with their obvious crazy good cameras skills.

On another side note -- the bride's dress just happens to be a Nicole Miller. Nice taste outdoorsy bride.

Ah! I am in love with this affair! How beautiful and what a testament to their spirit and joy in spite of all the (beautiful) rain. I followed the link to the original post, and the rest of the images are equally as beautiful. What a happy afair! Not to mention, the bride is glowing and gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.

I think this is my favorite wedding...the rain is almost a cleansing, renewing energy - somewhat like washing away anything from the past that doesn't serve you and starting anew...this wedding is HOT! If it rains on our day so be it - I'll embrace it!
