I was at a park with my dog, and he was at the park with a friend's dog he was watching. We talked about animals, city life, and missing the ocean. There was a small spark, something there that had the potential to be pos
sibly great, but we left without saying goodbye. The next day it was staring at me from the computer screen, looking for Cori and Tabor, the girl and her dog he regretted not asking a number from. He wanted to take me to the ocean.
I waited too long to decide that the post expired and was lost. I didn't reply... because I couldn't. Even though E and I were still apart, I had already tried to move on and it hadn't worked. I needed a break. A month later everything was different, and I suppose how it was always meant to be. E and I have been together ever since.
I still look at the
Missed Connections every now and then, they're so sad and hopeful (or sometimes just amusing and vulgar).
Sophie get's it, and illustrates them in an effort to record these fleeting moments of two people connecting.
